Transgender person is elected to Italian parliament


Five lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people were elected as members of the Italian parliament. While Europe is more accustomed to the presence and visibility of LGB people in politics, the case of Vladimir Luxuria, a transgender person being elected as a parliamentarian, is probably the first of its kind in Europe.

Same-sex couples from out of state can't marry if they don't stay,  a CNN report says.





Couples from states where gay marriage is banned, can't legally marry in Massachuetts,  according to the Thursday's ruling of the states highest court.

Protest after Iraq leader slams gays
A protest will be held in London tomorrow by gay activists Outrage, following comments from Iraqi religious leader Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani that suggest he supports the killing of gay men.

The protest comes after comments were published on al-Sistani’s website, which called for the killing of lesbian and gay men “in the most serve way”, according to Outrage translations.

The group says this comment holds Sistani accountable for any deaths of lesbian and gay people in Iraq.
